Overview
This guide will walk you through the steps to scan documents and send them directly from your HP printer to an email address.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Document
Place the document you wish to scan face-down on the scanner glass or in the automatic document feeder (ADF), depending on your printer model.
Ensure the document is properly aligned, with no wrinkles or obstructions, to avoid scanning issues.
Step 2: Access the Email Scan Feature
On the Printer’s Control Panel:
Locate the touchscreen display or control panel of your HP printer.
Tap the Scan option. This may be available directly on the home screen or under the "Scan" menu.
Select "Email" as the Destination:
Select the Email option. This will open a screen where you can enter the email address.
Step 3: Scan the Document
Enter the Recipient's Email Address:
Using the on-screen keyboard, enter the email address of the person you want to send the document to.
If your printer is connected to a supported email service, you may also be able to select recipients from a list of recent or stored email addresses.
Adjust Scan Settings (Optional):
Before scanning, you can adjust the resolution, color, and file format (e.g., PDF, JPEG) based on your needs.
Choose between single-sided or double-sided scanning if applicable.
Start the Scan:
Once you’re satisfied with the settings, tap Scan or Start to begin scanning the document.
The printer will scan the document and process it into the selected file format.
Step 4: Send the Scanned Document via Email
After scanning is complete, the document will be attached to the email.
You can add a subject line and message if necessary.
Tap Send to email the document to the recipient.
Step 5: Verify the Email was Sent
After sending, the printer may display a confirmation message indicating that the email was successfully sent.
