Installation / Reset Instructions

⚠️ You MUST use the Ricoh installer (EXE) for setup. Do not use loose driver files or Windows’ automatic driver detection.

Step-by-Step:

  1. Remove Old Printers

    • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners

    • Remove all existing Ricoh printers

  2. Install the Driver

    • Run the official Ricoh driver installer (.EXE)

    • Do not attempt to install manually or extract files

  3. Select the Correct Printer (via IP Address)

    • During installation, you’ll be prompted to select a printer

    • Visit the printer physically and find its IP address

    • Select the printer using this IP (e.g., 192.168.1.14)

  4. Verify Printer Name

    • After installation, you’ll see a new printer called:
      RICOH IM C2510 PCL 6

    • Go to:

      • Settings > Printers & Scanners

      • Click the printer > Additional Printer Settings

      • Click Rename

    • Rename it to something descriptive like:
Ricoh 1st Floor or Ricoh 4th Floor

  5. Install Additional Printers (If Needed)

    • You MUST run the installer again for each Ricoh printer

    • Re-using the existing installed driver will not work

    • If you try and it fails:

      • Remove the printer again

      • Re-run the installer EXE from scratch

  6. Repeat Naming Steps

    • After installing each printer:

      • Assign a unique name again (to avoid duplicate names like “RICOH IM C2510 PCL 6”)

  7. Confirm Functionality

    • Try printing a test page or document

    • Verify that the correct printer was selected and responds as expected

If you follow these steps carefully, your Ricoh printer should function correctly without driver issues or connectivity problems. For further support, contact the IT department.

Notes for IT Staff

Known Printer IP Addresses:

LocationIP Address
4th Floor192.168.1.130
1st Floor192.168.1.197

These IPs are manually assigned and must be set in both:

  • The printer’s internal settings panel

  • The UniFi network controller

⚠️ Troubleshooting Notes

  • Setting a static IP manually may not work correctly.

  • Recommended workaround:

    1. Set the printer to DHCP

    2. Let it obtain an IP address

    3. Change the mode to Static, keeping that assigned IP
